Wolves Among Us-29
Before getting into my second warning about false teachers, healers and prophets; I wanted to make sure you were aware that Susannah and I have posted our second podcast in the KeneticLP Podcast series, titled “Open Eyes, Turn Tables.” In this podcast you will hear some updates from us on where we have been and where we are headed. We hope you can take the time to listen in.
A Warning Against False Teachers: Vigilance is Key
Once again, I feel compelled to warn you about the increasing presence of false teachers in the world today. Their influence is pervasive, and they are leading many astray. In my last Substack post titled “Cloaked in Light-28”, I focused on teachers and healers who fail to acknowledge the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ—the ultimate source of power and healing. This is the defining characteristic of a false teacher, healer, or prophet. These individuals may acknowledge a god but not the One True God, who grants power through Christ. Others may completely disregard Jesus Christ, arrogantly claiming that their power comes from their own hands.
This is a critical point to remember, and I urge you to stay vigilant and avoid falling for their deceit. Run from these deceivers.
1 John 4:1-3
"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. This is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world."
While the false teachers I mentioned previously often operate outside the church, I must also caution you about those who may sit within the church, or worse, stand at the pulpit.
Let me be clear: I am not a churchgoer, nor do I believe church attendance is a measure of one's devotion to Christ. In fact, I believe that relying on church attendance alone can deceive people into thinking they are closer to God than they truly are. Over the past 20+ years, I've wrestled with this notion, and today, we are seeing churches in America diminish, with attendance at all-time lows. This, I believe, is a sign of things to come, as the Bible foretells. Many church leaders have used their platforms for personal gain, becoming wolves in sheep's clothing. As a result, God is pulling His people out of these churches.
Revelation 18:4
"And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.’"
Let me clarify: I am not saying that all churches are bad or that everyone who attends church is lost. I have many friends that work in churches or attend regularly and they are wonderful people and would probably agree with the sentiment that many in the church have lost their way or simply never knew the way. This warning is for those close to the church to simply maintain vigilance. Just because it looks like light, does not mean that darkness is not nestled in there. In fact, it is a perfect place for darkness too hide. Our church leaders should be teaching that everyone has direct access to God. They should preach that reliance on a pastor or priest is unnecessary because, through Christ’s death and resurrection, each of us has been given direct access to God.
Leaders who occupy the pulpit should be empowering their congregants with this message, releasing control and shifting the focus away from themselves. When they do this, trust will be rebuilt, and these leaders will once again become true shepherds, guiding their flocks toward God rather than themselves.
The Bible warns us that false christs and prophets will even deceive God's elect.
Matthew 24:24
"For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect."
A warning like this wouldn't be complete without addressing the televangelists and prosperity preachers who have polluted pulpits around the world. My message to those of you who follow them is not a light one: If you are listening to their words, turn away now. Their time is running out, and their deceptive ways will soon be exposed. If you’ve been sending them money, stop now. I can’t explain why these people have been allowed to spread such lies, but I can tell you that their future will not be one they enjoy. The wealth they have amassed will be followed by the wrath of God, as they have deceived many with their false teachings.
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
"And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
I write this because we are all accountable for keeping our eyes open and being aware of these deceptions. It is not easy, as it requires us to examine the words of those we consider leaders and ask ourselves whether they are speaking the truth. We must evaluate their influence and discern whether it is driven by financial gain, a desire for power and control, or simply a heart of deceit. This even applies to evaluating these words from me.
The truth is often uncomfortable, and when it is found, you may lose things that you hold dear—friendships, possessions, or beliefs that you’ve manipulated to fit your worldview. The losses may be significant, but they are temporary. What you gain, however, is eternal and far more valuable.
The love of Christ is what endures. It is a love that permeates your being, healing all wounds. This love—His love—is where our victory lies.
Philippians 3:7-11
"But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead."
May this warning and message guide you toward truth, discernment, and the eternal love of Christ.
With the topic of false teachers, healers and prophets being so pervasive in the world today, I will spend my next Substack post highlighting false prophets. I will call out some of the social media sensations who have made slight twists of the truth in their development of a false future narrative. The internet has made it all too easy for these charlatans to push out misinformation from every direction.
